As a Career Counsellor, Master Therapeutic Counsellor, and Expressive Arts Therapist, I am super inspired when I see young kiddos and youth figuring out their perfect career path early in life. What this means for them is that they learn to follow their dreams and hearts at an early age. This allows them to have even more time and years to build their craft and expand upon their gifts.

There are an assortment of community services tailored to helping youth with employment. Statistics show that the average individual will go through nine careers in their lifetime. But what if we could narrow that down, so that there is clarity and focus? And what about the role of parents?

We want the very best for our children - - -but school, peers and community teach them how to follow societal rules of conduct, how to jump through hoops —-not how to be leaders and entrepreneurs. I am here to help guide you and your child towards a life of fulfillment through choice, self reflection and self awareness.

The perspective I offer is not the big question of the career decision making. Often kids are asked “what do you want to be when you grow up?” Instead, I focus on helping them to find their purpose by peering into their life experiences thus far to mine for little nuggets of gold — to observe and celebrate the small things about them that offer glimmers of information we mine for direction.

However, I am not just committed to helping them find their purpose — I am looking for greater clarity in how they can make a difference in their world, how they can help others, offer something of themselves that transforms, heals and uplifts, When they can see and own their purpose, life begins to have greater meaning, significance and hope. —-this opens them up to less depression and anxiety. Our goals for them shift to finding work that is bigger than just finding a job - enriching self and community.

My work includes the use of art for therapeutic purposes - including self expression, and self reflection, connection to self and others, finding meaning in difficult times, assisting with personal development to find greater harmony. With a vision for their future, we allow flow and surround them in love so that they can see their potential. The by product of this is greater self esteem and confidence.

In an increasingly AI and technology driven world, they can learn to harness creativity, adapt and pivot —they can shift, choosing pathways that are resistant to tech driven takeovers. Ultimately, we are helping your child to see their greatness and nurture their own authenticity, mission and voice.
